About the Site Map.
During the construction phase of the
Web content, the site map is the most convenient method for viewing any
completed content. Completed site links are underlined hyperlinks.
A site map navigation tree is provided within the
left-hand sidebar. It can be an easy and quick way to locate content.
A much more detailed site map listing, presented
in a modified table of contents format, is provided below. This listing contains
a brief description of each major area of the content that can help site visitors
in locating the appropriate content.

The Site Map Tree.
[Under Construction].
Structure and Layout of
Site Maps.
Site maps should contain the majority of the Web content pages
presented within the Web site. Proper organization of the Web site
and its underlying structure is critical for usability of a site
map's usefulness to site visitors.
As within a search function of a Web site, site maps should be
presented using multiple methods to accommodate the differences in
how people use site maps and to, also, accommodate accessibility
user agents.
For complex hierarchical Web content, strong consideration should be given to
segmenting the site map based upon the structure of the site. Dynamically driven
content can easily be maintained using a competent site map structure by updating
the appropriate database or XML
schemas. Flexibility is increased while site maintenance is reduced.
